A Question for you all !

Hello my friends, I have a slight dilemma and I need your help!

…This blog is all about China and the images I take here.

My dilemma is ‘I don’t want to move away from my China focus within this blog’

However, I also have other images I have taken or take in other countries like  England, Scotland, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines’, India etc and I don’t have the time or the energy to setup another separate blog for these images, so, here comes the  big question…

Should I open up another page within this blog and call it ‘Other Countries’ ‘Images from Elsewhere’ or…..not do this at all, I.e, don’t include them within this blog site?

It’s over to your Guy’s and Gal’s, please help an old man out of this dilemma!

Thanks

Mark

  1. Hi,

Why don’t you try and post them in pairs, you take one photo (china) and the other. Then you relate them to each other, make a contrast. Show us the differences. Black and White. China meets the world.

    Good luck;
    Olivier

  2. I for one would love to see your images from elsewhere. You could rebrand your current blog, but having built up a reputation for quality Chinese images here it would be a bit like starting again. Working thematically might be an option such as walls, people etc for a sequence of postings. I’m not too keen on too many images in one posting, but done occasionally it could work. Otherwise, as you suggest, you could add new pages for different locations, though I don’t know whether there is a limit to the number of posts that can be placed on a page.

There is, of course the option you want to avoid… And you could add links to it regularly on this blog. Switching between blogs is easy on WordPress, so it would really be like adding another page…. You would use the same password for access. So not what you wanted to hear perhaps.Either way I do hope that you keep adding to this excellent blog. Regards, John.

  3. I have been enjoying your China photos very much, they are really great and I look forward to seeing China through your eyes.. I would welcome a chance to see photos from your collection of ‘other’ countries. Personally I kinda like a blog with 2 themes.. why not? I include pics of Bali and also pics of my art on my blog.
No matter what your post is about it will definately have YOUR artistic sensibilities and thats what comes through… so I say.. mix it up… keep em coming. look forward to seeing more of your fab images !!! Tanya.

  4. Someone gave me this advice awhile back when I was trying to decide about mine, “it is your blog, do you what you like with it”. I think it would be interesting to see the comparisons.

  5. I would love to see photos from elsewhere. There are some awesome ideas here. How about adding a category for each country and posting them in your header menu? So “China” is one, “England” “Scotland” and so on. But you still have your rolling blog page naturally.

  6. If you do decide to post them on other blogs, I think your followers will also be directed to those post as long as they are all under your username. The same goes if you were to alter the name of your current blog. But don’t quote me on that, you best go to the FAQ page.

  7. I’ve really enjoyed your China images here and while I’d like to see your images from elsewhere I feel that you’ve created such a great catalogue of China here and my logical mind wouldn’t want that to be diluted.
Having said that I have set up seperate blogs for each of the countries I’ve lived/travelled in and it is quite a lot of work maintaining all of them but I like the idea of keeping them all separate.
So if you don’t want to do that and China is your main focus then perhaps start a separate page within this blog for ‘elsewhere.’
